Canning Possibilities In Vegetable Garden

At home we use to plant the vegetables. We plant the seasonal vegetables but some time we wanted to store the vegetables other than that season so most of the peoples prefer the canning process. Canning is also useful when the vegetables are more than we need.

We can store green vegetables, root crops and other possibilities are also available. These possibilities may be in the form of squashes, pulp or pickles.

Canning green vegetables:

We can store green vegetables such as vegetables from beans family, Asparagus, spinach. In case of the beans family we can store Tender green, wax beans, Pole Lima, Early or late Peas. In this case of beans canning you have to just remove the seeds and store them in pints or quart jars. While storing them you have to pick those beans which are young and the tender beans.

In case of Asparagus and Spinach you just have to pick nice crop and canned them in the cans so as to keep them safe till whole summer.

Canning Root Yield:

Along with the green vegetables you can pack and store the root crops such as Baby Beets or Baby Carrots. You have to cut them in slices and can store them

Other canning possibilities:

We saw how to store the vegetables but along with this we can store the other crops such as corn, Pumpkin, Pimentos, tomatoes, etc.

In case of corns just cut the corn from ears and then store those in usual manner as you did in vegetables. Use pints and jars for storing it.

You can store the pumpkins by removing pulp of the pumpkins. Store this pulp for further use.

To store pimentos select red and ripened from the garden.

While storing Tomatoes, if they are imperfect or broken remove the juice store that juice in sealed bottle. To store the round, solid tomatoes skinned that and store in the large mouthed jars. Other form to store the tomatoes is in the puree form.

Pickles is other form to store the favorite crop. You can store cabbage, onion, pepper, cucumber as pickles.
