Construction Management Architects
Introduction
Construction refers to the study of managerial and technical aspects of the construction industry, which include construction science, construction management, and construction technology, This discipline refers to a business model where one party to a construction contracts to a consultant/ architects which provide both legal and technical advice
Responsibility of Construction Architects
There are almost 7 major responsibilities of construction architects they are project management planning, cost management, time management, quality management, contract management and safety management. There are many responsibilities besides these seven major responsibilities like organizing and leading by implements project controls, defining roles and responsibilities, identifying key elements in project design and solve legal disputes and claims etc
Technical aspects and involved parties
Technically Construction related architects include three parties an owner, a designer or an engineer and builder. There contracts together to plan design, and construct project. The first construct is between owner -designer which include planning, designing and find possibility in some aspects of the construction, the second contract between owner and constructer(builder) which is based on construction of overall design, due to these two constructs the third part contract exit between the designer and the contractor
Recently a business model became more popular in which many owners and government agencies make contract which is called design built contract. In this kind of contract contraction team is known as design – builder team, they are responsible to complete a detailed design and plan for approval from then owner. after getting approval they can precede for construction
Advantages of model
The main advantage of this model is that construction team will be motivated to work with design team because they know the design aspects of construction which is designed by designing team, so in this way it possible to reduce the price of overall construction without compromising the quality of overall design
Other advantages may include the schedule in which project have to be carry out. some projects need to be complete in the tight schedule, so with the help of this model it is possible for contractor to pick early mobilization and carry out other construction activities which may run concurrently with the design
