Cookware are kind if food preparation containers that are commonly found in the kitchen. Kitchen consists of cooking vessels, like a saucepan and frying pans. All these cookware are use on a stove or gas. It is possible to use same utensil as a cookware as well as bakeware.

Cookwares are made up of different metals. Cast iron, stainless steel, steel makes the major contribution in cookware. Metal pots are generally made up of narrow range up of metals. All the metal use in cookware should be chemically unreactive so that they do not affect the flavors of food.

Braising pans and roasting pans are large, wide and shallow. It may have a cover and two loop or tab handles. Roasters are made of heavy gauge metals. Roasters have an oval shape. Casserole pans look like roasters, many items can be cook interchangeably between them. Casserole pans can be used in the oven or on the stovetop. Dutch ovens are made of heavy lid, having deep pots. Dutch ovens are redesigned to make them comfortable on stovetop or campfire

Frying pans gives a flat heating surface and shallow surface. Omlette pans provides rolling slope. Grill pan make sure that fat get drain away from the food. Griddles are plane plates of metal used for frying, grilling and making pan breads. The traditional iron griddles are circular, having semicircular hoop fixed to opposite edges of the plate. Rectangular griddles cover two stove burners. Saucepans are made of vessels with vertical sides about the same as their diameter. These vessels are used for simmering or boiling. It consists of one long handle. Larger pots having same shape, these pots have two handles close to the sides of the pot called as sauce pots. Saute pans are use for sauteing. Saute pans having a large surface area. It is just like a frypan. It has vertical sides, to prevent food from escaping during cooking. Stock pots are large pots having sides as tall as their diameter. The volume of stockpots is 6 to 36L. Stock pots comes in a different sizes.
