Types of crops

The type of the crops that you can grown in your garden include beets, cabbages, broccoli, sprouts, cauliflowers, sweet corn, cucumbers, eggplant, lettuce, melons, onions, garlic, peas and beans, potatoes, pumpkins and squash, tomatoes, herbs, leafy greens etc.

Advantages

In addition to these green vegetables there are several advantages for example

Leafy vegetables are easily grown, rich in vitamins and minerals, contain relatively less calories, and they are enjoyed most when harvested fresh. They are ideal for the cool temperatures and short seasons of high altitudes because they can be eaten at any stage of their maturity.

Cabbage

Cabbage is used in salads or coleslaw it can eat when they are boiled, baked, processed into sauerkraut, or pit stored.

Celery

It should be transplanted in June. Earlier transplanting may result in cold weather that can cause bolting

Endive and escarole leaves are used for garnish, salads and greens.

This crop is too cultivated in cool seasons to get the best results its Leaves are ready to harvest six to eight weeks from time of sowing.

Mustard

It can be cultivated in early summer it grows in hot weather.

Pak choi

Is can be recognized by its rounded green leaves with white petioles. It is a popular for cooking.

Spinach

Spinach grows in warm weather, although these varieties are slower to grow than other crops, the best time to cultivate this crop is spring. (April and the fall crop in August) season

Brussels sprouts

To harvest sprouts at 1 inch in diameter to keep plants productive. It can be harvested From August to November
