Rotation Cycle For Crops In Vegetable Garden
Crop rotation in vegetable garden will help to prevent diseases in plants. Some plant families will face the same disease and so they should not be planted in same location. You should remember not to plant the same crop in the same area more than once in 3 years. This will help to grow the crops healthily. The wastes of the crop can be organic manure for another crop variety. Potatoes are different vegetable and so do not plant them I the place where you have grown tomatoes, egg plants and pepper.
A successful gardening mostly depends on rotation cycle of crops. The crop rotation disturbs the life cycle of pests and disallows them to grow. As a result you can grow healthy vegetables in your garden. You can separate the vegetable garden into 4 beds. Rotate the crop cycle in clockwise movement. This will be easy to remember and will yield more productivity.
You can apply the rotation cycle for crops in your vegetable garden. You can divide the crops into different categories like root crops, leafy vegetables, and acidic plants and so on. Remember to plant crops from separate family in a location. You should prepare the soil for planting every crop family. Normally root crops will grow in alkaline soil and so you can add lime stone to the soil before planting root crops. Acidic plants like tomatoes will grow well in acidic soil. So you can add more manure.
Greens will grow in any soil. You can harvest the leaves and allow them to grow to take another harvest. But it is advisable to grow greens in separate spots after two or three harvest. Rotation cycle for crops in the vegetable garden is the natural way of controlling pests and diseases. Move the crop family to various spots season after season.
There are lots of benefits in Rotation cycle of crops. Normally potatoes are cleaners and the leave will remove weeds in the soil. SO the next crop will grow healthily in the soil. The peas and beans crops help to fill nitrogen in the soil so that the next crop can feed well with the nitrogen rich soil.
