Sleep Better With A Goose Down Comforter

If you toss and turn at night, the problem may not be that cup of coffee you drank at 4 pm, or the temperature of your room, but the fact that you need a goose down comforter. Synthetic comforters add warmth, but they do not have good insulation, and can make you feel "stuffy". Also, fabrics such as polyester tend to weaken, and do not have the long life of a good goose down comforter, which can last almost a lifetime.

A goose down comforter creates better insulation, because feathers, unlike masses of synthetic material, allow air through. Air is the ultimate insulator and creates comfort. Synthetic materials, instead of letting air through, trap body heat, and can cause you to wake up feeling clammy. Since these materials lack insulation, you may sweat during the night, and when the sweat cools off, you may increase your chances of catching a cold.

A goose down comforter is the best choice when picking bedding, because it is all-natural, long lasting and more comfortable than a synthetic comforter. Many people are worried about allergies to goose down comforters, but the allergies are usually caused by dust in the feathers rather than by the goose down itself. You can purchase a goose down comforter which as been cleansed thoroughly in phosphate-free soap and inspected for any traces of dust. These goose down comforters are completely clean and should not cause any sneezes and coughs. The best quality goose down comforters are made of feathers which have been hand-plucked and inspected.
