Weights Limits For A Trampoline
Weight limits are provided by the trampoline manufacturing companies on the given model as a guide for you. It also depends, to some extent, on the skills of the user, the more higher he bounces his jumps, the more is the load on the trampoline springs. So keeping this fact in mind, the user should be below the maximum recommended weight as by the manufacturer for a specific trampoline.
There are two types of trampolines available in the market, namely: rectangular trampoline or the round trampoline. These, either of the trampolines can be divided into three major groups:
I. Child: Te trampolines designed for children range from 7X5" with 5.5 inch springs upto 10X7.5" with 7 inches spring. Hence the desired weight limit for this range is around 83 kg for the children. They are to be used individually by the children upto the age group of 7 to 11 years only.
II. Adult or Advanced: These trampolines ranges from 11X8.5" with 8.5 inches spring upto 17X10" with 9.25 inch springs. The maximum weight limit desirable for this range is about 140 kg.
III. Sports Hall or Sports Club: You will see such trampolines at your local sports club or a leisure centre that are being used as a professional gym apparatus. They can be folded away and also meet the competition specifications as well as the size. The weight limit for such trampolines is about 90-95 kg.
The Springfree trampoline is especially designed for the backyard recreational activities. The mats are set at a level of about 34" above the ground. At such a great height, the recommended weight is75kg or 165 lbs. it doesn't mean that the trampoline will break off even, if we get a little higher the recommended weight limit. The Springfree trampoline is designed to be very stronger and can load about 500kg or 1100lbs at the center of the mat. In other words, it can bear the weight of the male polar bear which is considered as the largest carnivore on the earth.
Always check out for the weight limits before you use a trampoline for safety reasons. Exceeding the maximum recommended weight may cause fatigue and failure of the certain parts of the trampoline. It may also lead to "bottoming out" while bouncing. If more than one child is allowed to bounce, do not forget to total us their entire weight.
